WALLINGFORD, Conn., Oct. 26, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Z-Medica®, LLC, a leading developer and marketer of hemostatic devices, announces today the results from the Tee It Up Fore Marines Golf Tournament, put on by the Mission Viejo Community Foundation in collaboration with the City of Mission Viejo, CA and the city's Marine Adoption Committee. Z-Medica was the title sponsor of this year's sold-out event.
According to event organizers, twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) has been collected thus far from the tournament, which is used to help the families and members of the Headquarters Battalion of the 1st Marine Division stationed out of Camp Pendleton, which was formally adopted by Mission Viejo.
The goals of the Committee include sending weekly care packages to deployed troops, subsidizing the cost for entry-level Marines to attend the annual Marine Corps Ball, collecting gowns for female Marines and Marine wives to wear at the annual Marine Corps Ball, visiting Marines at the Wounded Warrior barracks and distributing toys to the children of Marines during the holidays, among other family support activities.
"We take pride that our product, QuikClot Combat Gauze®, is used to help save the lives of our military while deployed in the battlefield," said Z-Medica's President and CEO Stephen J. Fanning. "On the home front, we utilize several annual opportunities, like the Mission Viejo effort, to help support military families of those who are deployed."
